This meeting will focus on the Houston-Galveston Area Council's (H-GAC) mission, goals, and activities, particularly as they relate to regional infrastructure, including funding issues with the Transportation Policy Council (TPC).

Our guest speakers are Houston Council Member, Sallie Alcorn, Chair of the Board of Directors, H-GAC; Chuck Wemple, Executive Director, H-GAC, and Waller County Commissioner Justin Beckendorff, Chair of the H-GAC TPC.

The H-GAC is the regional organization through which local governments consider issues and cooperate to solve area-wide problems. It provides planning programs in most areas of shared governmental concern. There are 13 counties in the H-GAC's service region: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton, which include over 100 member cities.

The meeting is on Friday, November 15, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at The Junior League of Houston. Check-in and networking begin at 11:30 a.m.
